BEACHES BREW 26
THE FREE ENTRY BEACH-FRONT FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE 09-10-11 JUNE IN MARINA DI RAVENNA, ITALY

Every summer, Beaches Brew transforms the Italian seaside of Marina di Ravenna into a space for discovery—where global artists meet a curious, open audience. Free and inclusive by design, the festival is a celebration of musical and cultural exchange that unfolds naturally through the shared energy that only live performance can bring.
This year, the festival will host ‘Eco-Friendly-Afro-futuristic-Punk-Assemble’ Fulu Miziki, a multidisciplinary collective of artists based in the Congolese capital city of Kinshasa who are always in search of new sounds, and build their instruments, performance costumes, and masks from items found in the trash; The Zawose Queens–Pendo and Leah Zawose–showcasing the fluid polyrhythms and rapturous polyphonic singing of the Gogo (also known as Wagogo) people of the Dodoma region of central Tanzania; Joshua Idehen, who–alongside his creative partner Ludvig Parment–presents an incredibly fresh approach to pairing poetry with dance music; Guatemalan cellist Mabe Fratti and Venezuelan guitarist Hector Tosta together are Titanic, a project marked by improvisational energy, cinematic depth, expansive jazz-inspired arrangements, and a compelling interplay between beauty and tension; Dublin’s six-piece contemporary folk band Madra Salach; dj duo Napoli Segreta; Swiss-Canadian musician and visual artist Camilla Sparksss, blending experimental, lo-fi and electronic pop; Irish intersectional feminist post-punk band M(h)aol, known for their DIY ethos and invigorating live shows; La Valentina, a Colombian artist based in Paris who merges rap and drill with Latin sounds; Japanese ‘new wave mushroom trance’ band, Super Jet Kinoko; jangly, guitar pop newcomers, Good Flying Birds; the deep and distorted indie rock of Prewn; experimental duo Los Sara Fontan; the radicalized guitarwork of avant-garde Colombian singer-songwriter Julian Mayorga; Italian post-funk disco prince, Alex Fernet; the alternative showgaze of Kodaclips; and DJ sets from Carte Gold and Beaches Brew resident, DJ Fitz.
