Born 23.10.1979 in the arid San Joaquin Valley of California, Miles Cooper Seaton started singing in his church's choir at 5 years old. His family relocated to Seattle, Washington in 1989 where he discovered and fell in love with Hardcore and Noise music. He moved to New York in 2002, and founded the Avant / Experimental / Rock collective Akron/Family with whom he has been blessed to perform with Michael Gira, Keiji Haino, William Parker, Hamid Drake, the Sun Ra Arkestra, and many other cultural and musical luminaries.
Typically a combination of composition and principal based improvisation, Seaton's solo performances strive to mix the transcendental and intuitive aspects of spiritual music traditions with the visceral, confrontational and humanist values of punk and countercultural art movements. In fine Wabi Sabi style, there is often an air of impending derailment, and a leave-it-on-the-field mentality that encourages audiences to acknowledge their collaborative role in any event.
Seaton's first solo record "Phases In Exile" will be released in 2014 and features contributions from Brad and Phill Cook (megafaun) and Synth Wizard M. Geddes Gengras.
